🤡Dreeshen had one job and he failed

🖍️The AECOM report proves Devin Dreeshen failed to find a better or cheaper Green Line alignment

Thanks to pressure from engaged citizens like you, the Alberta Government finally released their supposedly "confidential" AECOM report on alternative Green Line alignments through Beltline and Downtown. The report exposes the inconvenient truth that Transportation Minister Dreeshen's proposed crayon map elevated alignment is nowhere near ready for prime time and would require much more work to fully assess if it's even viable.

Meanwhile, City Administration has already found the report missed $1.3-billion in extra costs and risks, making Dreeshen's "preferred" alignment actually costlier and riskier than the City's underground alignment.

Release of Dreeshen's formerly "confidential" Green Line report confirms that his proposed crayon map elevated alignment through Beltline and Downtown is dead on arrival - a bad idea that also happens to be riskier and more costly.

👀 "Preferred Downtown Option" redacted from report

As it turns out, even AECOM might not agree with Dreeshen on his "preferred" alignment through the Beltline and Downtown. Dreeshen fully redacted the section titled "Preferred Downtown Option" from the public release of the report.

The "Preferred Downtown Alignment" section is one of many redacted from the publicly released AECOM report.

🎪 Alberta Government's war on transparency and the Green Line

The Alberta Government continues to withhold Ric McIver's 2021 technical assessment that concurred with the City's underground Green Line alignment. This report must be made public in light of the Province's misinformation campaign against the Green Line.

⬇️ Going underground in the Beltline and Downtown is the only viable option

The plans put forward by the City of Calgary are the only viable options for the Green Line. Anything else is just a sideshow distraction 🤡🎪.

Danielle Smith and her UCP Government are contributing $55-million in taxpayer funds to build an underground arena for one of the richest billionaires in Canada (who lives in Switzerland). Meanwhile, she is refusing to contribute to build efficient underground public transit for taxpayers in Calgary.

📣Keep up the pressure!

✉️ 1) Email Calgary City Council

The Alberta Government report confirms Dreeshen failed to find a better or cheaper plan to build the Green Line in Calgary.

Ask City Council to fight for the Alberta Government to reinstate funding for the City's underground alignment, just like they funded a new underground arena for billionaires.

✉️ 2) Email the Alberta Government - Ditch the Dreeshen Doodle🖍️

The Alberta Government report confirms Dreeshen failed to find a better or cheaper plan to build the Green Line in Calgary.

Ask Danielle Smith and Devin Dreeshen to ditch Dreeshen's disastrous crayon drawing and get onboard with the City's shovel ready underground plan for Downtown and the Beltline with the same enthusiasm they had for funding an underground arena for some of the wealthiest billionaires in Canada.

In the spirit of transparency, the Alberta Government must also release to the public Ric McIver's confidential 2021 technical assessment that agreed with the City's underground Green Line alignment.

EMAIL DANIELLE SMITH AND DEVIN DREESHEN
