Calgarians Are Speaking Up in Support of the Green Line
We are in the home stretch! And thanks to you, Calgarians are showing more and more support for the city’s visionary Green Line. But we need your help this Monday to ensure that the Green Line updated Stage 1 alignment gets approved by City Committee.
An overwhelming majority of Calgarians sent in messages of support to the City of Calgary in advance of the important Monday, June 1 Green Line Committee meeting.
Together we showed that Calgarians overwhelmingly support the Green Line
Our petition is nearing 1,000 signatures from Calgarians across the city, the #YYC4Transit hashtag is overflowing with selfies and signs of support, and many of you have asked how you can appear in front of the City’s Green Line Committee on June 1 to make the case for this important, city-shaping project.
A thousand Calgarians across the city have joined together to sign our petition in support of the Green Line!
Together, we have shown that our voices are louder and more credible than a small, unrepresentative group of Calgarians who have relied on a boutique, top dollar communications firm spamming the internet with misinformation in an attempt to derail the Green Line.
Monday’s Green Line Committee Meeting
Monday’s Green Line Committee meeting will be crucial in deciding the fate of the Green Line. Will the Committee vote to move Calgary forward into the future building LRT from Southeast Calgary to Centre Street North across the Bow River, laying the groundwork for future LRT extensions including an LRT link from Downtown to the airport, or will the committee cave to the anti-transit opposition and rob North Central communities along Centre Street from the LRT they deserve?
We believe the future of the Green Line should not be decided at invite-only meetings at the Petroleum Club. That’s why we need your help to ensure the updated Stage 1 Green Line alignment is approved at the Green Line Committee Meeting on Monday.
