⭐️ Funding Drive ⭐️
Nov 25 - Dec 2, 2024
🤠 Who We Are
Project Calgary is a volunteer-run initiative started by local community advocates with the vision of focusing the knowledge and ambition of a diverse group of community leaders to build a modern, 21st century Calgary that thrives economically, culturally, environmentally and socially.
We are independent and are not funded by any political parties or unions.
⚡️ What We've Done
In 2023-2024, we supported successful advocacy efforts to build more housing in Calgary, stand up for trans rights, save the 3rd Ave South Downtown Cycle Track and to defend investments and services for everyday citizens in Calgary's 2025 budget.
We continue to hold City Council accountable for their decision to subsidize a new arena billionaires and to advocate for Council to re-invest back in existing communities instead of unsustainable sprawl. We are defending the Green Line against Danielle Smith's plans to make a disastrous Dani-Line that skips Downtown and North Central Calgary.
🪴 We Need Your Help to Keep Going
Danielle Smith and the UCP are waging a war on local democracy in Alberta. They have sabotaged Calgary's Green Line project, are attacking the rights of vulnerable Albertans and are imposing unwanted municipal political parties on the city in attempt to elect a puppet municipal government in 2025. In response, we have launched Project Alberta to expand our advocacy province-wide to fight back.
Every year, for one week we hold our Funding Drive where we ask the community for support to help us continue to make Calgary better. Our goal for this year is to raise $8,000 to cover our technology costs. 100% of the money raised will go directly to pay for the digital tools that keep our advocacy platform going throughout the year.
